Winter in the north of England has definitely been more extreme this year with the unbelievable amount of flooding. Cumbria and other parts of the UK have suffered. However there have been moments of beauty and I have enjoyed many solitary walks with the dogs seeing the colours changing and enjoying the winter light. A moment of calm before the season of weddings and portraits begin. See more of the Cumbrian floods post here.
January and February are always the quiet months for me and are definitely for keeping warm inside! Other than booking exciting weddings for this summer, including one in Spain (a new country for me), I love heading north to the Lake District where I grew up. My birthday (22nd January) is a completely indulgent day for me, doing what I love to do. This year was no exception and just for me the sun came out, there was a spectacular blue sky and if you climbed up high enough lots of snow!
I headed into the Lake District taking for company Ilika the dalmatian, Tara the sheepdog and Dora the dachshund to a secret valley close to my heart. Spot the self portraits!
