Last saturday saw me not as the photographer for a wedding but the Bridesmaid, Matron, Madonna or Best Lady as were some of my names! I laid down my camera and watched the wedding unfold with new eyes and without a lens to obstruct the view, it was wonderful and felt great to be able to appreciate a wedding in an entirely different way. Of course when the couple were having their photographs taken I couldn’t help but get involved with holding the reflector and watching for veil and hair that seemed to be flying everywhere! Typical bridesmaid duties perhaps?
Tattie Rose did the flowers and she was original, creative and unique. One especially impressive display being on a medieval style candle holder in the centre of the marquee.
When I returned home to Cumbria on sunday my thoughts turned to the portrait session I was doing the following morning with Elizabeth who is a very sweet and angelic little girl. What interesting ideas and props could I use to create memorable photographs and of course, out of everything, it’s my bouquet of flowers done by Tattie that fits in perfectly!
Special thanks also go to Rachel Wilson for assisting.
