This wedding was SPECTACULAR! I cannot thank Bea and Ben enough for having me as their photographer. The joy, happiness and fun of the weekend left me with the biggest smile on my face for weeks!
Arriving at Chateau de Queille is like stepping into some magical world. Everyone slept in either the castle or in medieval tents down by the river. Each person seemed to have brought their own sense of creativity to the weekend. Whether it was gathering flowers in the meadow to decorate the tent and make the bouquets or to the talented bride Beatrice Perry designing her own dresses as well as the bridesmaids dresses.
The musicians came from far and wide and were the most wonderful and eclectic mix. They serenaded the guests as the party walked through the woods to the ceremony. This took place in the most idyllic spot overlooking the chateau and was conducted by Beatrice’s brother. There were wonderful readings in French and English, including Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s Le Petit Prince. After the ceremony the champagne was brought out and everyone toasted the bride and groom. As temperatures soared all anyone could do afterwards was strip off and float in the cool shade of the river while munching on refreshing watermelon.
When the golden light descended on the day we made our way to the Pavilion where a delicious supper awaited us. Speeches were made and the traditional French croquembouche wedding cake was cut. Finally, of course there was music & dancing! But! This was no ordinary music. This music empowered dancing that shook every bone in your body, that rattled your senses and left you crying out for more! However, I will let the photographs take you on an adventure of one of the most fabulous weekends of 2016.
