This was an incredibly special wedding as it was the first that took me back to France after I had left to live in the U.K. I met Lauriane and Emilie just before I made my big move in a little café near centre Georges Pompidou in Paris and right from the beginning I knew that it would be a great wedding. Firstly the girls both have such style and the words creative, spontaneous and fun were bandied around and this was music to my ears! It is also a remarkable time in history to photograph at a gay wedding in France being only just legalised. Emilie and Lauriane had found me through Un Beau Jour so I knew directly the kind of a wedding it would be and I think the photos represent them as the fantastic, lively and original couple they are.
The wedding took place in the Mairie at Soisy sur Seine in the suburbs of Paris. They then took their recently renovated red Mini and we drove out to La Chalottorie which is a beautiful chateau 30 minutes outside of Paris.
With a live band, delicious food, a photo booth and an extensive garden to explore. The wedding couldn’t have been more enjoyable.
